RECAP: Radio One Fest Scores Big in Miami!
Some of the biggest names in hip-hop music converged on one stage this past weekend for Radio One Fest Miami. If you weren’t at the Klipsch Amphitheater in Downtown Miami on Saturday, July 7th you definitely missed a spectacular, celebrity-laced event. Concert-goers were treated to live performances by T.I., Kirko Bangz, Monica, Melanie Fiona, DJ Khaled, Ace Hood, Fat Joe, Mavado, Nino Brown, Urban Mystic, Cherlise, Waka Flocka, Wale, Ice Cube, and my new boyfriend in my head Young Jeezy.
And, although it was hotter than the hairy crack of a baboon’s @ss in Miami, every artist that graced the stage gave us a high energy performance. The show’s hosts, comedian and radio personality, Rickey Smiley and Felisha Monet (WEDR 99Jamz) kept the crowd entertained in between acts. We were even fortunate enough to see Juicy (co-host of the Rickey Smiley Morning Show) perform her rendition of Nicki Minaj’s “Beez In The Trap.”Peep her performance [below]:
Point guard for the Phoenix Suns, Shannon Brown, accompanied his beautiful wife, R&B singer Monica, to the event. They took in the festivities from the front row and were joined by good friends actress Gabrielle Union (girlfriend of Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade) and Savannah Brinson (fiance’ of Miami Heat’s LeBron James). Yep, that’s right – there were REAL basketball wives & CURRENT girlfriends on deck. Um-kay?!

Overall, Radio One Fest really hit it big by hosting their event in Miami. Folks were getting along. There were no reports of violence. Everyone in attendance seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves despite the hot, muggy weather conditions. Annnnnd, surprisingly there were NO ARRESTS! BOOM!!!
